Negative CaloriesHaven't you at one time wished that food had no calories and you could eat as much as you want and still not gain weight, keep fit and healthy? But does food like these really exist? Yes negative calorie diets do exist.
No food actually has zero or negative calories. A negative calorie diet works on the premise that certain foods create negative calorie effects, allowing you to lose weight. A negative calorie diet is
controversial because the theory is not scientifically sound. However advocates of the diet say that you can literally eat your way to weight loss and clean your body of toxins.
How do negative calories work?
Negative calorie foods are foods that take up more caloric energy to digest than the actual calories the food contains. Calories from these foods are harder for our body to use. In other words the body has to work harder to extract calories from these foods. Your body has to expand energy in order to digest and absorb foods.
Even though food may contain equal amount of calories not too many of these can possibly turn into fat in fat burning foods i.e. negative calorie foods as fewer calories are actually available to the body. This gives these foods a tremendous natural fat burning advantage.
Consider the following fact: A piece of cake has 400 calories while it takes only 150 calories to digest on the other hand an orange/apple contains 50 calories but needs 150 calories to digest resulting in a net loss of 100 calories from your body fat. The more you eat the more you lose weight.
The negative calorie diet works on the concept that certain negative calorie foods contain a surplus of vitamins and minerals which can speed up enzyme production in quantities sufficient to break not only its own calories but possible additional calories present in the digestive system.
